AEW Dark results: Orange Cassidy vs. Jora Johl

It’s Friday and you know what that means: a special edition of AEW Dark as a precursor to next Friday’s Rampage debut in the same time slot.
These matches were taped in Jacksonville, Florida.
Jurassic Express (w/ Marko Stunt) defeated D3 & Ryzin
This match marked D3’s AEW return who last wrestled in April against Dark Order’s 10. Jungle Boy was the protagonist as he was able to show off a lot of his arsenal. Jurassic Express (8-1) dominated, winning with the Throwrassic Express.
Kris Statlander (w/ Orange Cassidy) defeated Leila Grey
This match was more competitive than expected as Grey got some offense in and even booped Statlander’s nose, which was a huge mistake on Grey’s part. Statlander won with the Big Bang Theory and her record is a perfect 14-0 since making her return.
Lucha Bros (w/ Alex Abrahantes) defeated Sage Scott & Jake St. Patrick
This featured a lot of the cool moves you would expect from the Lucha Bros. St. Patrick and Scott are a really good team and showcased more here than we saw in their previous matches. Penta hit the Fear Factor to secure the win and a 15-8 record.
Julia Hart (w/ Varsity Blonds) defeated Angelica Risk
On commentary, Taz was not happy with Risk wearing orange since she is not affiliated with Team Taz. This was a great showcase for Hart, but there’s some things she still needs to work on. She won with a bulldog, improving her record to 5-7.
Ethan Page defeated Baron Black
This was Page’s first match since his coffin match loss to Darby Allin. This was somewhat of an easy win for Page who was fairly dominant. A beautiful Ego’s Edge got him the win and an 18-3 record.
Gunn Club defeated Aaron Solo & Nick Comoroto (w/ QT Marshall)
The bad blood between The Factory and The Nightmare Family continues. Comoroto’s strength was on display and Billy Gunn did a great job putting him over when they clashed as they were the two big guys of each team. In a surprise turn of events, Gunn Club won as Billy grabbed Solo’s tights for the pin to remain undefeated at 8-0. This is the second time Gunn Club have won by grabbing the tights for a pin.
Frankie Kazarian defeated Peter Avalon (w/ The Wingmen)
Family Feud star Avalon came out with a very cool Ric Flair-esque robe. The Wingmen tried to intervene on behalf of Avalon, but were unsuccessful. Kazarian (21-4) won by submitting Avalon with the chicken wing.
Dante Martin & The Sydal Brothers defeated Darian Bengston, Vary Morales & Aaron Fyre
Trios matches in AEW are always fun and this sprint was no exception. Martin and the Sydals won with a combo lightning spiral. I can’t wait for AEW to announce their Trios titles someday.
Lance Archer (w/ Jake Roberts) defeated Tre Lamar
This was Lamar’s second AEW outing and the reigning IWGP U.S. Champion destroyed him before the bell rang. This was basically an extended squash match and it ruled. Archer (17-3) won with the Blackout.
Abadon defeated Kelsey Heather
Abadon made all of Heather’s nightmares come true. Abadon (14-1) dominated for the most part, winning with the Burial Plot.
Orange Cassidy (w/ Chuck Taylor, Kris Statlander & Wheeler Yuta) defeated Jora Johl (w/ Private Party)
Private Party coached Johl during the match, but more than helping him, they were a distraction. Cassidy (13-1-1) won with the Orange Punch when Johl was distracted.
Final Thoughts:
Once again, the commentary of Taz and Excalibur having fun while watching the matches was one of the biggest highlights. The match of the night was the trios match with other ones to check out including Jurassic Express vs. D3 & Ryzin, and Archer squashing Lamar.
