AEW Dark results: Kip Sabian vs. Tony Deppen

This week’s AEW Dark was taped early last month in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Tay Melo (w/ Sammy Guevara) defeated Miranda Vionette

Melo planted Vionette into the mat with a German suplex as the bell rang. After following up the suplex with a knee strike, Melo locked in a neck crank, which quickly made Vionette submit. She moves on to face Ruby Soho on Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite.

The Factory (QT Marshall, Cole Karter & Lee Johnson) defeated Joe Keys, Chris Steeler & LSG

Johnson trapped Steeler in the corner early and delivered a flurry of kicks and punches. Marshall and Keys were in next with Marshall sending him to another world with a great running back elbow. Moments later, Johnson came in again and delivered an elbow of his own to Keys.

Keys got a moment of hope when he sent Johnson outside of the ring. This allowed LSG to come in off the hot tag and take out Karter and Johnson. Marshall came in and halted LSG’s momentum, which led to him getting hit with an assisted diamond cutter. After some slight hesitation, Marshall pinned LSG for the three count.

Zack Clayton defeated Steve Pena

Clayton backed up Pena in the corner with a lockup before delivering a stiff uppercut. After playing to the crowd for a bit, Clayton continued to work on Pena who had the crowd behind him despite Clayton being from New Jersey. Clayton finished up the match with ease after delivering a brain buster.

Kip Sabian defeated Tony Deppen

Sabian took Deppen to the mat with a wristlock as the bout began. After focusing on getting a reaction from the crowd, Sabian then focused on keeping Deppen on his toes with hard hitting action. After sending him to the floor with a kick, Sabian rolled Deppen back in the ring. Moments later, Sabian delivered a fantastic springboard dropkick to Deppen that sent him flying across the ring.

Sabian then attempted to hit his finisher, but Deppen turned it into a small package for a near fall. Deppen would follow up the near fall with a running knee attack in the corner for yet another near fall.

Sabian regained control of the match after tripping Deppen, causing him to faceplant into the middle turnbuckle. Following that, Sabian hit Deppen with a reverse fireman’s carry slam for the win.

Eddie Kingston & Ortiz defeated The Trustbusters (Jeeves Kay & Slim J) (w/ Sonny Kiss & Parker Boudreaux)

After grabbing his crotch and taunting Kingston early on, J was able to get in a single kick in on “The Mad King.” Kingston then suplexed J and tagged out to Ortiz who hit an assisted suplex for a near fall.

Kay entered and tried to cheat to get an advantage on Ortiz, who had tagged in shortly before. Kingston eventually got the hot tag and delivered an exploder suplex to both Kay and J. After delivering a backfist, Kingston made Kay submit with his signature sleeper hold.
