AEW Dark results: Jay Lethal vs. Blake Christian

This week’s AEW Dark matches were taped at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.
Max Caster (w/ Anthony Bowens) defeated Trevor Aeon
Caster made quick work of Aeon, pummeling him with a series of hard-hitting maneuvers. After playing to the crowd, Caster hit Aeon with the Mic Drop for the victory.
Serpentico defeated Vary Morales
These two started off with fast-paced exchanges and reversals. Serpentico gained the upper hand and nailed Morales with an impressive power bomb. Shortly after, Serpentico beat him with a Gotch-Style Neutralizer for the win.
Kris Statlander defeated Ava Everett
Statlander immediately took Everett to the mat and hit a standing frog splash. Everett responded with a few nasty forearms in the corner, but Statlander wouldn’t take that lightly, delivering her twisting sit-out powerbomb for the victory.

Dark Order (John Silver & Alex Reynolds) defeated The Wingmen (Peter Avalon & Cezar Bononi)
Avalon was dominated early which led to him tagging out to Bononi. Bononi worked down Silver in the corner with a big boot, but that didn’t lead to much as Silver tagged out to Reynolds once he got a chance. Reynolds cleaned house of Bononi, but before that, Avalon had made a secret tag. Avalon looked like he had a chance to take off Reynolds’ head with a clothesline, but he got caught in a roll-up pin instead which scored Dark Order the win.
The Varsity Blonds & Brock Anderson (w/ Arn Anderson) defeated Terry Yaki, Jay Lucas & Larry Lazard
The opposing team across Anderson and The Blonds didn’t get a single move in as they were all cleared out one by one. Griff Garrison got the majority of the offense, hitting Lucas with a rolling elbow before delivering a front facing slam for the victory.
Diamante defeated Devlyn Macabre
Macabre had the early advantage after tripping Diamante when she went to bounce off the ropes. Both women eventually made their way back to their feet and engaged in a striking war with mainly kicks. Diamante made easy work of Macabre after, locking her in a straightjacket crossface for the submission victory.
Tony Nese defeated JDX in a ROH Pure Rules Match
Nese slammed JDX to the mat as soon as the bell rang. JDX stood back up after recovering and nailed Nese with a right hand, but Nese responded by taking JDX to his knees and blasting him with a reverse kick to the skull. Moments later, Nese transitioned a pump handle into a piledriver for the win.

After the bout, “Smart” Mark Sterling called out Wheeler Yuta on Nese’s behalf for a ROH Pure Title match next week. Later on, Yuta accepted.
ROH Women’s Champion Mercedes Martinez & Serena Deeb defeated Yaide & Anna Diaz
Deeb and Martinez made quick work of their opponents, locking them in their respective submissions after dodging attacks from both women, picking up yet another victory as a team.
Jay Lethal (w/ Sonjay Dutt & Satnam Singh) defeated Blake Christian
This was about the only match on the show with any type of substance.
Lethal and Christian tied up in a lockup that fizzled out once it made it in the corner. Lethal was very brash in his actions, but Christian took advantage of the moment with a dropkick that sent Lethal tumbling into the bottom rope.

Lethal regained the advantage after Christian failed to capitalize on a dropkick. The match slowed down significantly at this point with Lethal applying a rest hold. The crowd willed Christian to his feet which prompted him to hit a standing sliced bread for a near fall. Christian followed with a ripcord Spanish Fly for another very close near fall.
Christian went for a 450, but Lethal got his knees up. Lethal hit the Lethal Combination, followed by a top rope elbow drop for the win.
