AEW Dark Elevation results: Tony Nese vs. Alex Reynolds

It’s Monday and you know what that means. Matches were taped this past Wednesday prior to Dynamite in Long Island, NY, with Tony Schiavone, Mark Henry and Eddie Kingston on the call.
Thunder Rosa defeated Gabby Ortiz (1:18)
Ortiz is a Philly native who made her AEW debut in this loss. Rosa hit the Thunder Fire Driver to get the quick pinfall.
After the match, Rosa made the mistake of letting Schiavone interview her. It didn’t take long for Jade Cargill and Mark Sterling to interrupt. Rosa called Sterling a “simp” and the crowd chanted that at Sterling. Rosa said she resented how Cargill has no respect and has had everything handed to her while she had to work her way up from the bottom. Sterling had to hold Cargill back from going after Rosa. These were strong promos after the quick squash.
Red Velvet and Kris Statlander defeated Nikki Duke and Tina San Antonio (2:45)
Statlander got a huge pop when she tagged in and tilt-a-whirl slammed Velvet onto Duke. After stereo kicks on San Antonio, Statlander hit the Big Bang Theory on San Antonio for the pin.
Gunn Club defeated Joey Sweets, Antonio Zambrano and Jack Tomlinson (3:28)
Billy Gunn came out wearing an “Ass Boys” t-shirt which his sons ripped off of him. Joey Sweets’ gimmick is “Sweet Cheeks” which Billy Gunn didn’t like. He tried to take off his tights, but referee Aubrey Edwards ensures Sweets’ pants remained on. There’s a sentence I never thought I’d write. Austin Gunn hit the Famouser on Zambrano to get the win.
Emi Sakura (w/ Mei Suruga) defeated Notorious Mimi (3:05)
Sakura hit a reverse swinging neckbreaker that the commentators didn’t know how to call (it looked like the Cross Rhodes to me). Mimi hit a side slam and leg drop for a near fall, but Suruga hit Mimi with her scepter and Sakura used a La Magistral cradle to get the win.
Anthony Ogogo (w/ The Factory) defeated Jaden Valo (0:27)
Ogogo won a quick match with the Olympic slam.
Santana and Ortiz defeated Mike Verna and Anthony Gangone (w/ Prince Nana) (1:34)
Santana and Ortiz got a huge pop. Santana hit a cutter on Gangone followed by he and Ortiz hitting him with a reverse flapjack to get the pinfall.
Tony Nese defeated Alex Reynolds (5:00)
Nese hit Reynolds with a forearm before the bell. Reynolds came back with a corner clothesline and went to the middle rope, but Nese yanked him down by the leg to take control. Nese snapped Reynolds’ neck back against the top rope and then a springboard moonsault for a near fall. Nese and Reynolds exchanged near falls and both were able to avoid their opponent’s German suplex by flipping through and landing on their feet.
Reynolds went for a moonsault off the top, but Nese got his knees up. Nese deadlifted Reynolds up into a power bomb in the corner and caught him with a running knee for the pinfall.
