AEW Dark Elevation results: Paul Wight in action

It’s Monday and you know what that means: an eight-match AEW Dark: Elevation taped last Wednesday at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia, South Carolina. Tony Schiavone, Mark Henry and Paul Wight were on the call tonight.
Leyla Hirsch defeated Ella Envy
This was Envy’s debut. Hirsch won a short match after a running knee strike to improve her overall record to 36-14.
Brock Anderson & Lee Johnson (w/ Arn Anderson) defeated The Factory’s QT Marshall & Aaron Solo (w/ Nick Comoroto)
Like other Factory matches, the babyfaces isolated Solo for a while until Comoroto interfered, this time by attacking Johnson. The match was built around Brock Anderson cleaning house and doing all the moves his father used to do back in the day. He hit a spinebuster to Solo to get the win for he and Johnson (6-5).
I’d recommend watching this.
Serena Deeb defeated Dani Mo
Deeb (19-5) worked Mo’s right knee during most of the match. Using a combination of several dragon screws and the Serenity Lock, she picked up another win to improve her overall record.
Frankie Kazarian defeated Lucky Ali
This was Ali’s debut. This was all about the seasoned veteran against the “lucky” rookie. Ali used his speed to overwhelm Kazarian at times, but his experience swung things in his favor. Kazarian (69-29) used a flying cutter and the chicken wing to pick up the submission win.
Red Velvet defeated Brittany Jade
This was Jade’s debut. Velvet showcased a few punches as commentary mentioned that her father was a boxer which explained her knowledge for those type of strikes. Velvet (48-22) used Just Desserts to get the win.
Best Friends (w/ Orange Cassidy) defeated The Workhorsemen (JD Drake & Anthony Henry)
Trent Beretta’s mom was at ringside with a sign wishing him a happy birthday. He and Chuck Taylor tried to go for their hug spot but Drake and Henry prevented it from happening which got them heat. The heels got a great near fall on Trent with a combination of a stunner and knee strike. In the end, Taylor and Beretta used Strong Zero on Henry to get the win.
This was the best match of the show.
Ruby Soho & Anna Jay defeated Diamante & Ashley D’Amboise
This match was yet another good showcase from D’Amboise on Elevation as she got even more offense in than usual. Diamante and D’Amboise’s strategy were to isolate Soho and work over her midsection. Soho used No Future on D’Amboise to pick up another win for her team.
After the match, Diamante attacked D’Amboise because of the loss and the fact she tagged herself right before she was going to piledrive Jay, causing her team to lose.
Paul Wight defeated Austin Green
This was a homecoming match for Wight. The crowd went nuts every time he slapped the living hell out of Green’s chest. The hometown boy used a chokeslam to pick up the win and improve his overall record to 4-0.
