AEW Dark Elevation results: Moxley, Kingston, Archer, Penta, Acclaimed

It’s Monday and you know what that means: time for a fifteen-match AEW Dark: Elevation.

Jungle Boy (w/ Marko Stunt & Luchasaurus) defeated Adrian Alanis

This was a quick, but fun opener with Jungle Boy looking great as usual. This was the 14th win for him this year and I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a one-on-one match against Kenny Omega after Double or Nothing.

Dustin Rhodes defeated Aaron Solow (w/ The Factory)

The feud between The Nightmare Family and The Factory continued here as both wrestlers immediately went after each other at the start. During the match, Nick Comoroto intervened on Solow’s behalf until Aubrey Edwards kicked him out of ringside as well as the other members of The Factory.

This was a solid performance for Solow and Rhodes did a great job giving him the spotlight as he is one of the best workers AEW has. Rhodes teased attacking Solow with the cowbell, but at the last minute, he changed his mind and won the match with the modified neckbreaker.

Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston defeated Danny Limelight & Royce Isaacs

After their recent singles match, Moxley and Limelight were on opposing teams this time around.

This match was really good and Limelight once again had a solid performance, the MVP of Dark and Elevation. Moxley and Kingston won after hitting the Violent Crown on Limelight. This was their fourth win as a team and they face The Acclaimed Wednesday before their date with Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks at Double or Nothing.

Lance Archer (w/ Jake Roberts) defeated Bear Bronson

Roberts joined the commentary table for this match and seemed to have fun in doing so. The best way to describe this match would be to quote Big E: “Big meaty men slappin’ meat!” This was a hoss fight and it ruled. Chops, punches, and power moves is all you needed and both delivered. The Murderhawk Monster won after hitting a very impressive Blackout.

Leyla Hirsch defeated Natalia Markova

The Russian wrestler Markova made her debut, one of several tonight. This was quick and to the point. Markova looked good with the offense she was able to get in. Hirsch won by submission with a cross armbreaker, her twelfth straight win. Markova was recently part of a WWE tryout, so we might not see much of her in AEW after this.

Scorpio Sky and Ethan Page defeated Jaylen Brandyn and Traevon Jordan

This was another win for the team of Sky and Page, running their record to 7-0. Jordan and Brandyn had a good showing on this match, but Sky was able to use a heel hook to win this match. Later on the show, Sky and Page cut a promo about being happy about last week’s TNT Title change.

The Bunny (w/ H.F.O.) defeated KiLynn King

Before the match, Matt Hardy cut a promo putting over The Bunny and her change since joining H.F.O. This was a competitive match and probably one of the best matches in Bunny’s AEW run. King is a solid worker and all her stuff looks great. The Blade distracted the referee, enabling Hardy to give Bunny an illegal object and punch King to get the win. After the match, Bunny kept attacking King until Big Swole ran out for the save.

The Acclaimed defeated Kevin Bennett and Kevin Blackwood

Max Caster had another great rap before the match. This is one of those things you need to go out of your way and watch. This match was competitive and The Acclaimed looked great ahead of their Dynamite match against Kingston and Moxley. Caster picked up the win after the Mic Drop.

QT Marshall (w/ The Factory) defeated Baron Black

Black had a solid performance and came close to a win on several occasions. Marshall won after the diamond cutter, running his AEW record this year to 14-1. Later, The Factory cut a promo about Jacksonville with Anthony Ogogo cutting a great promo in telling some truths about America. Ogogo is the ultimate babyface.

Joey Janela defeated Daniel Garcia

This was Garcia’s first match in AEW since last September. Garcia didn’t disappoint and had a good match with Janela who won after a nasty-looking death valley driver. I hope we see more of Garcia in AEW.

Private Party (w/ H.F.O.) defeated Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds and Alan “5” Angels

The Hardy Family Office and Dark Order battled once more in the most prominent feud Elevation has had since its inception. Private Party work well with any combination of the Dark Order. They are finding their groove as heels and they have something special. From mannerism to the moves, they are money as heels. A distracted ref didn’t see Matt Hardy appear out of nowhere to use the twist of fate on Reynolds, giving Private Party the win.

Ryan Nemeth & JD Drake (w/ Peter Avalon & Cezar Bononi) defeated Roman Rozell & Derek Pisaturo (w/ First Sargent)

Earlier on the show, Nemeth had a sit-down interview with Paul Wight. Like other interviews with Wight, this was really good. We learned a lot about Nemeth’s career in Hollywood and some of the projects he has been involved on. This was the AEW debut of both Rozell and Pisaturo. They had a solid debut and have an interesting act. Drake won this match with a beautiful moonsault, giving he and Nemeth their first win as a tag team.

Later in the show, Nemeth and the rest of the gang were part of an entertaining backstage segment.

Tay Conti defeated Kiah Dream

It was time for another debut and in this case, it was Dream. For someone with only 18 months experience, she looked solid. Conti controlled most of this match and showed her continued improvement since joining AEW. Conti won with the DDTay, her twelfth win of the year.

Penta El Zero Miedo (w/ Alex Abrahantes) defeated Robo

Robo The Punjabi Lion had a solid AEW debut, but Penta won with the Fear Factor.

Thunder Rosa defeated Robyn Renegade

This was another short and to the point match. Renegade had some hope spots, but Rosa won by submission with the Peruvian Calavera necktie.

Brian Cage (w/ Hook) defeated Mike Sydal (w/ Matt Sydal)

This was the match of the night as Sydal and Cage worked so well together. The Sydal brothers have been great additions to the roster and are great hands to have. Cage debuted a new finisher called Weapon X (a reference to Marvel’s Wolverine).

Final Thoughts:

This show had a lot more competitive matches than usual as well as several debuts. The commentary was good as usual with a few moments of forgetting to mention the names of a few finishers. The match of the night was the main event between Cage and Sydal.
