AEW Dark Elevation results: Jay Lethal, Tony Nese, Dark Order

It’s Monday and you know what that means: a seven-match AEW Dark: Elevation taped last Wednesday at Chicago’s Wintrust Arena.

Diamante, Emi Sakura, The Bunny and Nyla Rose (w/ Mei Suruga & Vickie Guerrero) defeated Julia Hart, Leyla Hirsch, Ryo Mizunami and Skye Blue

When it seemed the heels were going to gain the advantage, Mizunami countered with a double spear on Rose and Bunny. Blue was one of the most over wrestlers in the match as the crowd would chant for her and pop big for her offense. Given Chicago is her hometown and how good she is, it’s not a surprise. She got a lot of offense in for someone not signed with the promotion.

Both Guerrero and Suruga interfered in favor of the heel team. Diamante and Rose had a great combo move with an assisted splash to Hirsch. Hart avoided Rose’s power with dropkicks and agility but in the end, she couldn’t counter the Beast Bomb and took the loss.

TayJay defeated Alice Crowley and Missa Kate

This was the AEW debut for Crowley. Tay Conti started with several judo throws on Kate while Anna Jay later won with the Queen Slayer submission to end a short match.

Ortiz & Santana defeated Brayden Lee and Isaiah Moore

Ortiz and Santana dominated the match from the start as Lee and Moore were barely able to get offense in. Ortiz and Santana (14-3) won with a combination of a discus lariat and an enziguri.

Tony Nese defeated Vic Capri

This match was the AEW debut for Capri. Nese started by showing off his physique and got distracted a lot because of it. Nese had a great combination of a bulldog, followed by a moonsault. Nese won after a pump handle sit-out piledriver. His record is 3-0 ahead of his TNT title match against Sammy Guevara on Rampage this Friday.

HFO (w/ The Bunny) defeated The Dark Order

Matt Hardy, Blade and Isiah Kassidy attacked the Dark Order from behind to start the match. The flow changed when Kassidy tried to go for an assisted move with Hardy, but Alan Angels countered with a pair of tijeras on Kassidy. Evil Uno got a near fall on Blade with a reverse DDT. Hardy tried to go for a Twist of Fate, but Angels countered with one of his own. Kassidy hit an enziguri kick from the outside and a Twist of Fate from Hardy back inside gave another HFO win over the Dark Order once again.

Jay Lethal defeated Storm Grayson

This was the AEW debut for Grayson. He started with the upper hand, but Lethal quickly changed the tide and after a Lethal Injection, he was able to get his first AEW win in two outings.

Varsity Blonds and Dark Order (w/ Julia Hart) defeated Chaos Project and The Acclaimed

Max Caster’s rap made several references to Chicago’s sports teams and Aaron Rodgers.

Griff Garrison had a hot start and was able to even clean out the ring at one point. John Silver, with his quick hot tag, was able to follow that up to keep the advantage. Alex Reynolds, with an assisted swanton, was able to take out both Chaos Project and The Acclaimed. Silver hit a Spin Doctor to pick up the win for his team.

Final Thoughts:

HFO and Dark Order have been feuding for months and trading back-and-forth victories against each other. The matches are good, but the feud just needs to end already.

Most matches were short with the exception of the multi-woman match which was the best match of the episode. Once again, Skye Blue shone in an AEW ring and it’s just a matter of time until we see an #AllElite graphic with her name.
