AEW Dark Elevation results: Jake Atlas debuts, Jay Lethal in action

It’s Monday and you know what that means: the first AEW Dark: Elevation show of the new year, taped last Wednesday at Daily’s Place in Jacksonville, Florida, prior to Dynamite.

Riho defeated Valentina Rossi

This was a clash of size, but the smaller Riho won in quick fashion after landing the Somato, upping her record is 23-5. This was a key win for Riho ahead of her challenge of Women’s Champion Britt Baker on this Saturday’s Battle of the Belts.

Andrade El Idolo (w/ Jose The Assistant) defeated JP Harlow

This was the AEW debut for Harlow. Andrade destroyed him with a few chops that sounded like gunshots. Andrade (8-3) dominated the entirety, winning by submission with a new lock he calls La Muerte (“Death” in Spanish).

Megan Bayne defeated Leila Grey

Before the match started, Bayne had a really cool entrance centered around her Greek heritage. She showcased her strength by holding Grey for a long time before suplexing her. Bayne (1-3) won with a tombstone piledriver for her first AEW win.

Scorpio Sky (w/ Dan Lambert) defeated Ray Jaz

This was pretty much a squash with Sky also getting Lambert’s help to make this even easier for him. Sky (52-16) won after hitting the TKO.

Dark Order’s Alex Reynolds & John Silver (w/ -1) defeated Mike Orlando & Shayne Stetson

This was another squash match with the contracted talents dominating, giving their opponents a few hope spots. Silver and Reynolds won with a combination of a stunner and german suplex on Stetson.

Jake Atlas defeated Serpentico

This was the AEW debut for former WWE NXT wrestler Atlas. As soon as the match started, Serpentico attacked him but Atlas was able to counter and showcased some of his unique office like his cartwheel counter. Atlas finished this off with a combination of a german suplex, a running knee strike, and his beautiful rainbow DDT to pick up the win in his debut.

Skye Blue defeated Angelica Risk

Risk threw Skye into one of the barricades and a familiar face could be see sitting at ringside: none other than JJ Williams from this very website. Skye (4-7) dominated, winning after a full nelson into a face slam.

Jay Lethal defeated Troy Hollywood

This was the AEW debut for Hollywood. He had some interesting spots, especially countering a figure four from Lethal into a roll-up for a near fall. Later, Lethal tried to go for Lethal Injection but Hollywood countered into a snapdragon suplex. Lethal was able to finally hit Lethal Injection to pick up his second AEW win.

Final Thoughts:

Megan Bayne had a good showcase with her Greek goddess gimmick and Atlas had a good debut against Serpentico. The best match of the show was Lethal vs. Hollywood, but overall, AEW Dark: Elevation was short and an easy watch.
