AEW Dark Elevation results: Hardy Family Office vs. Dark Order

This week’s AEW Dark: Elevation was taped last Wednesday from the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Tony Schiavone, Big Show, and Mark Henry were on commentary with Eddie Kingston joining midway through. 

Jay Lethal & Sonny Kiss defeated Chris Steeler & Jaden Valo

Kiss and Lethal were announced as “Jersey’s own” and got a hometown pop from the Newark crowd. Steeler and Valo got some brief moments of offense in, but Lethal and Kiss took most of the match. Lethal finished off Valo with the Lethal Injection. 

Emi Sakura & Nyla Rose (w/ Vickie Guerrero) defeated Skye Blue & Tina San Antonio

Blue and San Antonio did get an entrance for this match and Blue even held her own against Sakura for a bit. Then, Guerrero grabbed Blue’s foot from ringside on an Irish whip and the heels took over from that point on. Rose pinned San Antonio after a Beast Bomb. 

FTR defeated Myles Hawkins & Pat Brink

There was no Tully Blanchard with FTR this week. Dax Harwood had a heavily taped-up shoulder and sold like he was injured when he landed on it after a dropkick. After the ref checked on him for a bit, he then popped up quickly and he and Wheeler gave Hawkins the Big Rig for the win. 

Leyla Hirsch & Red Velvet defeated B3CCA & Notorious Mimi

Schiavone pointed out that Hirsch has had issues in recent weeks with Kris Statlander. He also mentioned that she was adopted, along with her sister, from an orphanage in Moscow and now lives in the Jersey area. 

Hirsch got a nice pop after delivering a double suplex to both opponents. She would later make a blind tag while Velvet had things in control. Hirsch then made Mimi tap out to an armbar shortly after. Velvet didn’t seem too pleased with Hirsch after the match and there seemed to be a little dissension between the two.  

Powerhouse Hobbs defeated Ryan Clancy

Kingston joined the commentary team here. Schiavone talked about how Hobbs will take on Dante Martin this week on Dynamite. 

Hobbs took Clancy apart quickly with power moves and made him tap to a torture rack. Hobbs makes for a good, fun and quick squash match. 

QT Marshall defeated Zack Clayton

Marshall cut a promo on his way to the ring and pointed out that Clayton is from the show Jersey Shore and also engaged to Jenni “Jwoww” Farley. Marshall said he’s what put Jersey on the map, not some reality show. 

Snooki and Jwoww were seated at ringside with their kids. Marshall and Clayton brawled near them in the early moments of the match. 

Clayton got in quite a bit of offense here. He got a near fall after hitting a superplex and hung on to transition into a fisherman’s buster. As he was complaining about the count, however, Marshall wrapped him up in a crucifix pinning combination and got the three count. The commentary team played up how well Clayton did.  

Andrade El Idolo (w/ Jose the Assistant) defeated Avery Good

Kingston pointed out that Andrade has been angrier since going through the flaming table in his Atlanta street fight against Cody Rhodes. 

Schiavone talked about the recent interview he did with Andrade and mentioned that Andrade is looking for Darby Allin to be his second assistant, evidently feeling that is the role Allin plays for Sting. So, that’s an interesting storyline developing. 

At one point, Andrade slapped Good so hard in the face that it drew a loud “ooohhh” from the crowd. An aggressive Andrade made his opponent tap out to an armbar to end the match. 

The Acclaimed defeated Joey Ace & Kevin Matthews

Max Caster mentioned Antonio Brown’s recent hijinks, Anthony Fauci, Betty White and Matthews’ time in Impact during his intro rap. 

Schiavone pointed out that Anthony Bowens played baseball at nearby Seton Hall University. There were a lot of Jersey connections on this show. 

Matthews got in a little offense for his team but this was otherwise all about the Acclaimed. They picked up the win with a side slam/elbow drop combo on Ace. 

Dante Martin defeated Action Andretti

Martin getting huge height on aerial moves was on full display here, as is generally the case with all his matches. He pretty quickly hit his springboard moonsault for the win. There wasn’t even much time to talk about his match with Hobbs coming up on Dynamite. 

Dark Order (Alex Reynolds, John Silver & Ten) defeated Hardy Family Office (Isiah Kassidy, Marq Quen & The Blade)

Silver and Reynolds cracked the top five in the most recent AEW rankings, and Schiavone spoke about them possibly being close to a Tag Team title shot. 

This was a back and forth match with each team getting in periods of offense. Silver got in a pretty entertaining hot tag and the babyfaces finished off their opponents shortly after. 

Dark Order won with a triple team slam they have used before where Ten and Reynolds held up Kassidy as Silver charged off the ropes and pushed his opponent’s legs back as the other two followed through with a slam. 

Final Thoughts: 

For a show with mainly squash matches, some notable things occurred. I thought it was interesting that Marshall gave Clayton quite a bit of offense as commentary spoke about the Jersey Shore connection. Also, the dissension between Hirsch and Velvet felt notable. It makes you wonder if Hirsch might be going heel given what has been going on with her and Statlander lately.

I’m not sure if this was the start of Lethal and Kiss teaming together or if it was just a one time deal because they were in New Jersey. Overall, this felt like an eventful episode of Dark: Elevation.
