AEW Dark Elevation results: Guevara & Del Sol vs. Chaos Project
It’s Monday and you know what that means: a nine-match AEW Dark: Elevation featuring a lot of debuts. These matches were taped last week in Milwaukee.
Daniel Garcia defeated Tylor Sullivan
This match was Sullivan’s debut in AEW and served to build Garcia’s record ahead of his Rampage rematch against Darby Allin. From the start, Garcia went for Sullivan and controlled the match, winning very quickly by submission with a scorpion deathlock for his third win.
Jora Johl (w/ Matt Hardy)defeated Kal Herro
The story of Johl trying to earn a spot in HFO and to make “the American Dream” possible for both he and his family continued. This was a short match that Johl (1-5) won with a pump kick. Later, Hardy did a backstage promo to which Johl followed with his own promo in Hindu and then “translated” Hardy’s promo, too.
Emi Sakura (w/ Lulu Pencil) defeated Ashley D’Amboise
This was the first time Sakura was accompanied by Pencil to the ring. For those not familiar, she is a wrestler and leader of world-renowned faction The Pencil Army in ChocoPro. ChocoPro is slowly taking over the wrestling world.
This match was somewhat similar to when Minoru Suzuki had matches with young lions in NJPW. Sakura controlled most of the match and D’Amboise did a good job selling Sakura’s offense and working some of her offense in. Sakura (3-1) won with a backbreaker and is now 2-0 since moving to the U.S. This was a good one for the newest member of the Pencil Army.

Nyla Rose & Diamante (w/ Vickie Guerrero) defeated Julia Hart & Big Swole
The feud between Diamante and Swole continues. Last week, Swole and Hart challenged Diamante and a partner of her choosing to a tag team match this week, later revealed to be Rose.
Rose’s size was the key factor and helped her team throughout the match. Both did a good job working tag team maneuvers. One of the highlights was a cazadora facebuster from Swole to Rose. Swole also hit a lot of great looking headbutts, but in the end, Rose picked up the win with a beast bomb on Hart. Diamante has once again been able to defeat Hart and Swole.
Dante Martin defeated Adam Grace
This was Grace’s AEW debut. Martin started with a beautiful moonsault. This was a short match that Martin (16-5) won with a modified death valley driver.
Thunder Rosa defeated Laynie Luck
This was Luck’s AEW debut, but these two have faced each other before on the indies. This was a quick match Rosa with a fire thunder driver, upping her singles record to a fantastic 26-2.
Brian Cage defeated Anthony Bowens
Ahead of this match against Powerhouse Hobbs on Dynamite, Cage faced Bowen who is riding a three match losing streak. Hobbs and Hook were on commentary. Cage (28-4) controlled most of the match and used his size to his advantage. He won after he caught Bowens in mid-air and then hit the drill claw. After the match, Hobbs and the rest of Team Taz attacked Cage.
Hikaru Shida defeated Heather Reckless
This match was Reckless’ second outing in AEW. Fun fact: she is a student of the Black and Brave Wrestling Academy (owned by Marek Brave and Seth “3 star match” Rollins). This was more competitive and Reckless was able to showcase a bit of her offense. Shida (39-4) won with the falcon arrow.
Sammy Guevara & Fuego Del Sol defeated Chaos Project
This was Del Sol’s first match as an official member of the AEW roster. Likely as a result, he was super motivated and got to showcase more of his offense. Chaos Project controlled the match for a good portion due to their experience as a team over their opponents. In the end, Guevara picked up the win after the GTH to Luther — a rare “W” for his partner.
Final Thoughts:
Shoutout to the guy with a sign that said “Keep wrestling alive. Get vaxxed.” You’re the real MVP.
Most matches were short and to the point and nothing overstayed its welcome. Both tag team matches were the best on the show.
