AEW Dark Elevation results: Best Friends, Riho, FTR, Tay Conti

It’s Monday and you know what that means: a six-match AEW Dark: Elevation that was taped last Wednesday at Boston, Massachusetts’ Agganis Arena.

Emi Sakura & Nyla Rose (w/ Lulu Pencil & Vickie Guerrero) defeated Kris Statlander & Ryo Mizunami

Sakura and Mizunami started with a great exchange of chops. Statlander and Mizunami played well off each other and even did a mime spot. Mizunami had a combination of forearms and finished it with an exploder. Rose’s strength was a deciding factor throughout the match and she won it her team with an impressive swanton bomb on Mizunami. Sakura and Rose remain undefeated as a team.

Frankie Kazarian defeated Victor Benjamin

This was Benjamin’s AEW debut. He was able to showcase some of his strikes from his background in MMA. Kazarian was able to control most of the match, hitting missile dropkicks and spinning leg drops. Kazarian (31-6) won by submission with the chicken wing.

Riho defeated Kayla Sparks

The former AEW Women’s Champion got a great reception. She got most of the offense in this short match with her diving crossbody and third rope foot stomps. She won with a fisherman’s suplex, upping her record to 7-2.

FTR (w/ Tully Blanchard) defeated Waves & Curls (Jaylen Brandyn & Traevon Jordan)

This was the AEW return for Brandyn and Jordan. FTR controlled things, but Jordan and Brandyn were able to gain the advantage. FTR (26-3) played possum with Jordan, hitting the Big Rig to win ahead of their impending AEW Tag Team title match against the Lucha Bros at Full Gear.

Tay Conti defeated LMK

This was the AEW debut of LMK (aka Little Mean Kathleen). This was a short match Conti (36-5) won after several corner pump kicks and the TayKO. She is looking ahead to challenging Women’s Champion Britt Baker at Full Gear.

Best Friends (Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor & Wheeler Yuta) defeated The Acclaimed & Serpentico

The Acclaimed’ entrance rap was really funny as they made fun of the local sports teams. Cassidy then got the mic and made fun of The Acclaimed in his own way.

Unfortunately for Serpentico, The Acclaimed used him as a weapon just like Luther does. Yuta, Cassidy and Taylor have more chemistry as a team which is what ultimately helped them pick up the win with a devastating Orange Punch on Serpentico. Yuta, Taylor and Cassidy’s trios record is 6-1.

Final Thoughts:

The crowd was really more into this than most episodes of Dark: Elevation which helped all the matches. Conti, Riho and Orange Cassidy got the best reactions. The opener and main event were the best matches which wasn’t surprising considering they featured all AEW contracted talent.
