AEW, CMLL excited for future opportunities to work together
Both AEW and CMLL have released statements sharing their excitement ahead of next week’s collaboration.
On Friday, CMLL posted an official announcement confirming the upcoming match between Mistico and Rocky Romero that will be taped Wednesday for next Friday’s Rampage. In the statement, they said that it was the beginning of a new era for both companies, and are excited for future opportunities to work together.

In a series of posts on X Friday, Tony Khan confirmed he had met with CMLL officials on Friday, saying he hoped it was just the beginning.
“This is so cool,” Khan wrote on X. “Thank you for working with @AEW, we’re all very excited about teaming with @CMLL_OFICIAL next week on #AEWRampage!
“It was a great honor to meet today with @CMLL_OFICIAL today,” he wrote in a previous tweet. “I hope that next week’s match is just the beginning! CMLL Champion vs. Champion MISTICO @caristicomx vs Rocky Romero @azucarRoc Next Friday on #AEWRampage On @TNTdrama! Follow @AEWonTV for more info on this rivalry!”
Mistico currently holds the NWA World Historic Middleweight title, while Rocky Romero won the NWA World Historic Welterweight title earlier this year.
