“We’re very excited for the stars of @CMLL_OFICIAL coming to @AEWonTV soon, the return of the iconic @caristicomx + debuting Mascara Dorada 2.0, @_reyhechicero + Volador Jr.!,” Tony Khan wrote on X shortly after the announcement was made. “Thank you CMLL for the great collaboration!”
Back in October, Mistico made his AEW debut by defeating Rocky Romero in a match that aired on Rampage. At the time of the announcement, both Khan and CMLL released statements saying they were excited for future opportunities to work together.
Last September, CMLL announced a partnership with MLW and NJPW, with the three companies announcing a new strategic alliance that would see their wrestlers compete in all three companies. CMLL & AEW both have a working relationship with NJPW as well, with Yuji Nagata wrestling on Saturday’s AEW Collision against Bryan Danielson.
