AEW announces Fight For the Fallen events, proceeds going to Maui Food Bank

AEW’s television next week will be called Fight for the Fallen.

Tony Khan on Friday afternoon announced that due to the recent wildfires in Maui, Hawaii, he has made the change to next week’s shows. Proceeds from the Dynamite/Rampage tapings in Nashville, TN and Collision in Lexington, KY will go to the Maui Food Bank.

“Based on the horrific fires in Maui, I’ve changed AEW’s upcoming schedule to provide assistance,” Khan wrote on X. “Next week on Wed/Fri/Sat, it’s AEW Fight For The Fallen 2023 on #AEWDynamite #AEWRampage #AEWCollision. Proceeds from AEW on 8/16 Nashville + 8/19 Lexington will go to @MauiFoodBank.”

Dustin Rhodes, who was in Maui with his wife when the wildfires erupted on Tuesday wrote about his experience on X.

“Prayers for everyone in Maui including my wife and I,” Rhodes wrote. “We were without power or food since early Tuesday morning. A brush fire (one of many), destroyed Lahaina just 2 miles from where we were staying. We evacuated to [the] other side of [the] Island and were lucky to find accommodations. Been a helluva day.”

59 people have been confirmed dead from the wildfires in Maui, and at least 11,000 people in the area remain without power, according to the Washington Post.
