AEW making Australia debut with Grand Slam stadium show

AEW will indeed be heading to Australia for the first time with the date, location and name now official.

Announced during Sunday’s All In pre-show, Grand Slam Australia is set for Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane.

The venue’s capacity is listed at over 52,000 with up to 60,000 for concerts, but it’s unknown what they will set up for. Ticket information was not announced.

The rumors of AEW coming to Australia began two weeks ago with a report they were in well-advanced talks to run a stadium show. Sydney’s Allianz Stadium, Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium were all mentioned as possibilities with live entertainment company TEG backing the show.

This will raise questions as to whether AEW’s run at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York, may be coming to an end with this September’s Dynamite/Collision Grand Slam event. According to WrestleTix, the ticket sales for their fourth visit to the stadium are sluggish to this point as compared to previous years.

Grand Slam Australia will be their third-ever stadium show outside the U.S. with their two All In events at London’s Wembley Stadium as the first two.
