Adam Copeland on injury recovery: I feel good, ready to get back at it

After six months out of action, Adam Copeland sounds like he’s ready to get back in the ring.
Copeland has been away from AEW since suffering a fractured tibia at Double or Nothing this May. The injury happened during a barbed wire steel cage match where Copeland defeated Malakai Black. When Copeland jumped off the top of the cage, he landed feet-first and broke his leg.
Recently, it was reported that Copeland has been cleared for physical activity. He seemed to confirm that in a new interview with The Leafs Nation.
“I feel good,” Copeland said. “You know, my brain forgets I’m 51, but my body quickly reminded me: ‘Yeah, you just jumped from 21 feet, assh*le. Like, that’s technically three stories. You’re 51, quit it.’ But I feel good. I’m ready to get back at it and to get busy again.”
PWInsider reported this week that Copeland is cleared for physical activity but is not expected back in AEW on a regular basis until he finishes filming for the next season of the Disney Plus series “Percy Jackson and the Olympians.” Filming for the show is scheduled to wrap up in January.
AEW will be in Copeland’s current hometown of Asheville, North Carolina on January 1 for a Fight for the Fallen edition of Dynamite. If Copeland is available to appear, it would make sense for his return to happen that night. The show will benefit victims of Hurricane Helene, which severely impacted the Asheville area this September. It is also the start of AEW programming being simulcast on Max.
Copeland was TNT Champion before his injury forced him to vacate the belt. Jack Perry became champion after that but recently lost the title to Daniel Garcia at Full Gear.
