Adam Cole vs. Kyle O’Reilly for shot at MJF set for AEW Dynamite Winter is Coming

A match between longtime friends with implications for this month’s Worlds End is set for next Wednesday’s Winter is Coming edition of Dynamite.

Adam Cole and Kyle O’Reilly were the two final men remaining in Wednesday’s Dynamite Dozen battle royal, outlasting ten other men, and now will square off with the winner facing MJF at the Saturday, December 28th pay-per-view with MJF’s Dynamite diamond ring on the line.

Cole and O’Reilly eliminated Lance Archer and Brian Cage to win the match which also included Rocky Romero, Mark Davis, Evil Uno, Darius Martin, Action Andretti, The Butcher, Dante Martin, and Lio Rush.

On last week’s Dynamite, O’Reilly and Cole squabbled over Cole pursuing MJF which led to their inclusion in the battle royal — the latest chapter in an angle which includes Roderick Strong whom MJF injured at November’s Full Gear.

This will be Cole and O’Reilly’s first singles match against each other since WWE NXT TakeOver 36 when they competed in a two-out-of-three falls match.

In another match added at the end of the show, AEW World Champion Jon Moxley & PAC will team up against Orange Cassidy & Jay White. The match came about following White’s win over PAC that saw all the Death Riders get involved in addition to Hangman Page in another chaotic scene.

Here’s the current lineup for Kansas City, Missouri:

  • Continental Classic Gold league: Will Ospreay vs. Claudio Castagnoli
  • Continental Classic Gold league: Brody King vs. Ricochet
  • AEW Women’s World Champion Mariah May defends against Mina Shirakawa
  • Adam Cole vs. Kyle O’Reilly for shot at MJF at Worlds End
  • Jon Moxley & PAC vs. Orange Cassidy & Jay White
