Adam Cole qualifies for men’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament

Adam Cole has qualified for the Owen Hart Foundation tournament that kicks off next month.

Cole defeated NJPW’s Tomohiro Ishii to advance tonight on Rampage. The finish had Jay White, also of NJPW, appear on behalf of Cole, attacking Rocky Romero at ringside by throwing him into the steel steps. This distraction allowed Cole to low blow Ishii and score the win with the last shot.

Already qualifying for the men’s Owen Hart Foundation tournament are Samoa Joe and Kyle O’Reilly. Next week’s Dynamite will have another men’s qualifying match, with Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler of FTR facing one another in a singles match.

Cole interrupted Tony Khan introducing NJPW’s president Takami Ohbari to announce the joint show between AEW and NJPW, Forbidden Door, for June 26 at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois. He announced that he would be facing Ishii on Rampage. Jay White then came out and said that it was still the Undisputed Elite and Bullet Club’s era.
